Before I dive into the artistic scene that has developed in recent years in São Paulo, I must draw attention to a fact: I was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, but am in love with the so-called “land of drizzle.” My observations, therefore, come both from the frequency with which I visit and work in São Paulo, as well as from the inevitable otherness of my relationship with the metropolis.
