M+: In the Eye of the Beholder

In this video, ArtAsiaPacific gathers the popular opinion on Hong Kong’s long-awaited visual-culture museum, which was shuttered for three months shortly after its grand opening on November 12, 2021, and relaunched at the end of the city’s fifth Covid-19 wave on April 21. We ventured to both the openings to fire questions at people about the building design, the curation of the exhibitions, and the controversial removal of artworks referencing recent Chinese history, including the 1989 Tiananmen crackdown, from the Sigg Collection exhibition.
