The Hong Kong Baptist University’s (HKBU) Academy of Visual Arts (AVA) Graduation Show 2022 sails the Ship of Theseus, guiding its graduates through turbulent seas to find their coast.

Making is a process of remaking, a result from the tempering of thoughts and refinement of imagination. Ideas conjoin to create an alloy of the old and the new. We disintegrate it and put it back together, only to break it again. Through hundreds of iterations, are we holding on to anything?

Bridging the virtual and the real, the graduates sketch their blueprints. In the abandoned, assimilated, and inexpressible, each graduate’s ship is forged.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the exhibition will be open to the public under limitations. If you would like to visit the exhibition on-site, please fill in the registration form two days in advance. A confirmation email will be sent to those with successful registration.
