Christie’s Hong Kong to Open New Headquarters

On May 28, Christie’s auction house announced that its new Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong will host its first sales of 20th and 21st Century Art from September 26 to 27, debuting its new venue in The Henderson, a recently developed office building in Central district.
Christie’s new headquarters will occupy the sixth to the ninth floors of the urban landmark, which was designed by a leading London-based firm, Zaha Hadid Architects. The 4,645-square-meter venue will include a saleroom, galleries, a dedicated client hub, and office spaces. Featuring high ceilings and a pillarless floorplan, the spaces were designed to be versatile and accommodate diverse events, from exhibitions, client engagements, and private sales to educational programs.
“In a matter of months, Christie’s new Asia Pacific headquarters at The Henderson will open to the world—a year-round and unified art and luxury destination alongside Christie’s at Rockefeller Centre in New York, King Street in London, and Avenue Matignon in Paris,” the auction house’s Asia Pacific president Francis Belin stated in a press release. “The curation of our inaugural sales is underway and promises to be an unmissable event in the market. We are looking forward to introducing global collectors and enthusiasts to our new home this September.”
Christie’s also announced a series of luxury sales slated for October and Asian Art sales in November, details for which will be announced in the coming months.
