On February 7, Adrian Collette, CEO of the national arts council Creative Australia, announced that artist Khaled Sabsabi and curator Michael Dagostino, director of the Chau Chak Wing Museum at the University of Sydney, would represent Australia next year at the 61st Venice Biennale. “We are proud to support this extraordinary team,” Collette said. “Khaled Sabsabi’s work . . . reflects the diversity and plurality of Australia’s rich culture, and will spark meaningful conversations with audiences around the world.”
