Covid-19 is the great accelerator. Economic, social, and cultural systems went into overdrive after the pandemic hit. Global wealth disparities elevated from wide to enormous. Political partisanship ramped up. Plastic consumption went through the roof. And the only thing that circulated more virulently than Covid-19 was misinformation, as authoritarian forces found ways to incite and divide people, largely via the digital technologies on which we are increasingly dependent.
