Career Moves

Art establishments around the world have seen major leadership changes. In the US, the Chong-Moon Lee Center for Asian Art and Culture at San Francisco’s Asian Art Museum named Jakarta-born scholar Soyoung Lee as its next Barbara Bass Bakar director and CEO. She will start her role in April, succeeding Jay Xu.

Meanwhile in Uzbekistan, New York-based curator, writer, and educator Sara Raza was appointed as the artistic director and chief curator of the forthcoming Centre for Contemporary Art in Tashkent, slated to open in September. Raza will oversee global partnerships while supporting regional and international artists in their engagement with Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage.
