When struggling for lunchtime conversation starters with colleagues, try asking for their high-school extracurricular activities and you may even discover your desk mate’s hidden talents. A nostalgic discussion on this very topic a few weeks ago led to a crazy mid-noon full of side flips, overhead stretches, and split jumps at the AAP office. Suit pants were of no barrier to the show-and-tell extravaganza. Collectively, we might be able to host our own circus.
A public service announcement: if you are to display your skills in the workroom, it’s not a good idea to be doing cartwheels after having a very large lunch. Is there a way to have a tranquil conversation with (energetic and younger) coworkers that does not involve intense physical movement? I think they’re going to show me how to do proper squats next week.
